Last year a on 22 June 2015 A truck driver 'Sondaj's folly' came within a second of death when his lorry was struck by a train - splitting it in half.
Security camera footage showing the moment lorry got smashed by the train
The lorry was hit by the passenger train when the Truck driver ignored the flashing red light in the Czech city of Frydek-Mistek. if he had crossed a second later, the train would have smashed into the driver's cab with its full force - with undoubtedly fatal results.
Footage viewed by the court shows not only Sondaj's folly, but also how lucky his escape was – his decision to lurch the lorry forward by what looks like a mere metre or two, thereby keeping the cabin clear of the tracks, almost certainly saved his life.

A second after he made the incremental shift, the train, travelling at around 160km/h, ploughs through the crossing, obliterating the back of the truck and slicing the cabin off so cleanly it almost appears to have happened by design.
But though Sondaj's life was saved, three people aboard the train lost theirs, and another twenty-five injured. The driver of the locomotive, according to iDNES.cz, will likely suffer for the rest of his life from the injuries he sustained.
The judge adjourned the case, with a hearing set for next month. If Sondaj is convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison.
